Current General Manager Matt Schirmer was working at Meet Market, WBL in 2019 when the business went for sale. Matt, who studied culinary arts is happy to be working in his dream job. He shared his experiences of seeing the restaurant’s successes in the WBL restaurant community and how that has continued today, even through this pandemic. When the restaurant came on the market current owners Al Landerville and Dave Cossak saw an opportunity to expand their restaurant footprint and made what has turned out to be a great move. Al and Dave have a long pedigree in the local restaurant industry, including concepts such as Champs and Saks Sports Bar. The name has recently changed to Alleycats, but the menus and high quality, scratch cooking have remained, of course with constant improvements along the way. 

Some of the customer favorites include: Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich; Italian Club (Matt’s favorite); The Gyro; Chicken-Wild Rice Soup; and their excellent Cuban Sandwich. During normal times the restaurant also offers beer and wine. With the beautiful location close to the lakefront, it’s a great place to share a lunch and beverage on any beautiful Minnesota day. 

“Alleycats makes great efforts to ensure a safe experience for our customers and staff”, says Matt. They are among the many who have taken the Safe Dining Pledge. Due to their business model which has always included a strong Take-Out component, there business has fared better than some and their call-ahead and 3rd party delivery options have helped quite a bit. The Call-in number is 651-407-2607, and DoorDash has been the most used delivery service. The team at Alleycats is grateful for the support they have received from the city, community, and most of all their many loyal customers. They look forward to being a strong member of the restaurant community for years to come.
